Good news everyone! I finally have an official release date for This Would Be Paradise: Book 3. I will be releasing the eBook version on December 6th (on all eBook retailers) and then hopefully soon after, the hard copy.
Thanks so much for your patience, we're so close!

The planets have aligned! I am finally done the first (well more like 2nd/3rd) draft of This Would Be Paradise: Book 3!
It only took like 6 months... Although most of the writing occurred in these last two months. Now the book is off to the editor for a week or two, then when I get it back, there will be another round of editing done by me and by December you should have the eBook in your hot little hands! Knock on wood that nothing comes up, because as of right now, I am on schedule. Now about the book. It was actually longer than I was anticipating. I was thinking it was going to be around 75,000 words but instead it ended at 80, 800 words. Not a huge difference, but at least it's closer to the length of the other two books. Soooo much happens in the last installment. Bailey never gets to rest the whole time. Relationships are tested, characters are going to die (no one is safe! mwahaha!), and there are going to be some truly horrific moments. Got you excited enough yet? ;)
To those of you who are waiting for This Would Be Paradise: Book 3, I say: don't worry, I have not forgotten about it or left it to rot. Life has been hectic these last couple of months with buying my first home, family matters, personal and health issues, and well, you don't really want to hear anymore of that do you?
Excuses aside, I am chipping away at Book 3, having gotten myself a little stuck with it at first. I can say (don't worry, no spoilers :P) that it picks up only a week after the incidents at the end of Book 2 and dives right into the action by chapter 1. Perhaps if I'm feeling in the mood (get your head out of the gutter!), I may post a teaser snippet on here ;). If you are ever curious about the status on Book 3, you can check out my 'In The Works' page for a word count update or even the side of this blog has a word meter to track my (glacial) progress. I *promise* to be good and update it every time there's a big change! I know this isn't the news some of you wanted to hear, but hey, it's news at least! Right? *Hey! Who threw that pointy object?!* I got the idea to document my promo line-up from Kboards Writers' Cafe. I don't quite feel confident enough to post it there, so my blog is the next best thing. I will reduce the price for the first book to 99¢ on Amazon and all other retailers a couple days in advance to make sure the price change is properly reflected when the promotions start.
April 14th (Thur)- Betty Book Freak ($12 USD) EST. Sales: 10 April 15th- BookRaid (Free) EST. Sales: 2-4 April 18th- (Mon)- FKB&T ($30 USD) EST. Sales: 30-35 April 19th- BKnights ($15.75 USD) EST. Sales: Not many as they gave me a full refund April 20th- Book Barbarian ($15 USD) EST. Sales: 25-27 Total Cost: $72.75 USD (significantly more in CAD...) April 21st - Change price back to $2.99 The estimated sales are only for TWBP: Book 1. Book 2 sales peaked on the 14th then steadily fell throughout the whole promotion. FKB&T had the best results, but I was expecting Book Barbarian to be higher due to all the love for it on Kboards :/ BKnights was a bust BUT they gave me a full refund without me even having to ask for one. I guess they work better for free books, not 99¢. My Amazon ranking didn't do any dramatic jumps so it's not really worth reporting. Also the other miscellaneous eBook retailers maybe sold a combined 4 books during the promo. Overall, not the most successful promo run. But now I know which ones to use next time! |
